Programs

The Sheriff's Foundation offers several programs for the community.  To view more information about what we do, click on one of the links below.

The Elementary Safety School Program (E.S.S.P.) is a safety, drug and gang prevention and education program for 5th graders in unincorporated communities throughout Fresno County. E.S.S.P. provides instruction in bicycle and pedestrian safety, bullying, drug, tobacco and gang awareness and prevention, firearm safety and, in the process, builds self-esteem. Community Service Officers present the curriculum in Fresno County School District approved literacy-based format.

The Sheriff’s Office operates the Sheriff’s Activity League (S.A.L.) summer day camps as a crime prevention activity in the rural communities of Fresno County. The motto “Positive Reinforcement for Positive Behavior” is the foundation used by the Sheriff’s Office to instill in students that making the right choices in life will open up many doors in their future.
